Lunch and Learn
You're invited to our August Lunch & Learn: "Developing Your Brand." Topics to be covered include the essence of your brand, how to get it recognized and how to make social media work for you. Please Join your peers for this CEO/CFO invitation only event. Space is limited and reservations are taken on a first come first serve basis. Is Bankruptcy the Solution to Your Unpaid Taxes? . . . Probably Not
According to the Kiplinger tax letter a taxpayer failed to pay his taxes
after the IRS sent him a bill. He then filed for bankruptcy and
excluded his pension from the bankruptcy estate. Even though the
bankruptcy court discharged his tax bill, the IRS had the right to levy
his pension to collect the unpaid tax because it was not covered by the
discharge.

Expired Tax Breaks
The deductions for college tuition, teachers’ supplies, and the
write-off of state sales tax in lieu of income taxes all lapsed for
2010, plus the extra standard deduction for realty taxes and tax free
IRA payouts to charity. Read more
BUUURRNNNN!! Excise Tax on Indoor Tanning
The Internal Revenue Service recently issued regulations outlining the
administration of a 10% excise tax on indoor tanning services that went
into effect on July 1.
